Rapid Response Services  Rapid response is a process to respond to notifications of plant closings or layoffs of 50 or more workers at a single site, with no-cost information about the services to workers and employers (e.g., job search techniques, unemployment compensation, stress management, etc.) available to assist them locate and secure new employment. State staff provides training to local staff on how to establish labor-management committees and to provide on-site transitional services. |

SkillsLink
SkillsLink is an outplacement service for companies facing a lay-off. A team of job analysis experts from SkillsMAX will interview a sample of the laid off workers to profile their transferable skills. The resulting report will be provided to the workers to help them find a new job or appropriate training. Also, employers within 60 miles who are likely to employ these skill sets will be identified and made aware of the available pool of skilled workers, and they may contact the local One-Stop to hire. The goal is faster placement into a similar job at a similar wage.
